This has never happened to me in 11 years of basket making. For the first time I have to cancel an event because I no longer have enough basketry in stock.
Unfortunately, I have to cancel the farmers’ market on June 5th in Bad Salzhausen for exactly this reason. Since I produce everything myself, I simply didn’t have the time to weave baskets between the markets in May and my trip to France. Especially since the willows have to be soaked before I can weave and I also have other orders to complete.
So I decided to be productive in my workshop rather than disappoint customers and visitors at the farmers market when the selection of my basketry is very limited. In the next few weeks it will be a matter of picking out the willows, soaking them and weaving baskets so that I can show off the usual extensive range of goods for the next markets.
Because we see more than enough (half) empty shelves and sales tables in everyday life.
