The decision to give up my job in Karben and go back to my originally trained job as a basket maker has been made. On February 1, 2011, after careful consideration and with the support of my husband Ralf, I will plunge into the adventure of self-employment as a side business.
All the necessary preparations have been completed and my new phase of life begins today. With the documents I still have from my apprenticeship 1980-1983, I will first learn and practice weaving willow into the desired shape so that attractive baskets are created.
Everything I need as a basket maker has now been purchased. Willows are stacking up, weaving chairs are ready, the missing tools have been procured and I can hardly wait to finally do a job that I really enjoy again. What the future will bring will then become apparent.
