After the good start in 2011 with my basket making business and my first public appearance in Ranstadt, it was time to try out the first markets in 2012. Where do I fit in or not? What makes sense or not? The year 2012 was characterized by all sorts of markets that I just wanted to explore to see whether I would be in good hands there.
In addition to inquiries from organizers (thanks to Ralf, you can find me on the Internet), I also actively applied for specific markets. Only time will tell which markets are really suitable for me in the future and which are not.
The first market tent was purchased and Ralf then built a Wiki tent for the medieval markets.
Summary of my first market season ever: Some markets are completely canceled because the appropriate audience for basketry cannot be reached, but others are also promising for the future. You have therefore found a fixed date in my event calendar so far.
As a traditional basketry workshop, a love for nature and honest craftsmanship are close to our hearts. Please note that our blog articles often consist of personal workshop reports, historical insights, or everyday stories. If general characteristics such as "natural," "chemical-free," or "biodegradable" are mentioned in the texts, these refer solely to our untreated willow wickerwork. For quality reasons, we standardly use modern, durable cotton weaving tape when renewing chair caning. The currently valid material details, legally binding information, and appropriate care instructions for your product can be found on our information pages and in the FAQs.
