On May 3rd, 2015 the spring festival took place on Glauberg. And even though the weather was unsettled and rain was forecast, many visitors didn’t let that stop them from coming.
We had already set up the market tent the day before. We just wanted to avoid having to be on the market all day with wet clothes.
At 8:00 a.m. we quickly unloaded the basketry and then drove the car off the site. It’s just too narrow for multiple vehicles on the upper terrace. Especially when the other tents are all set up.
The light rain throughout the day, with occasional dry periods, unfortunately forced us to only display my basketry in the tent. And since weaving courses and braiding demonstrations were also on the program, it got pretty cramped in the tent.
Nice visitors, lots of questions and explanations kept us entertained and the time flew by. Unfortunately, from 4 p.m. the rain became heavier and the number of visitors became fewer and fewer. So the organizer decided to let the market end at 5 p.m.
So it was time to pack things up. Pick up the car and load it. When we dismantled the tent we got wet. But luckily it’s only a few kilometers home.
Now it’s time to get the tent tarpaulin dry again.
In any case, big praise should be given to the organizing team. As usual, they could be found anytime and anywhere and took excellent care of the exhibitors. Thanks.
