I’m currently occupied with two chairs with half-sun wickerwork in their backrests. After taking detailed photographs of the details, the old braid was removed and the blind holes were drilled out.
I am now in the process of building the new half-solar braid using 1.8mm thick braiding threads. An incredibly fiddly job, especially at the beginning and when there are four threads in a hole at the top.
