Still in the middle of setting up at the farmers’ market last Sunday (6 April 2025), the first visitor came to the stand. However, she didn’t want to buy anything but wanted to invite us to the Querbeet farm festival in August. After a brief conversation, we agreed to clarify this by email the next day. We did just that and registered for the farm festival with my basket goods. Seasonal fruit and vegetables from the farm and my shopping/harvest baskets simply go well together.
So now we have a date with Querbeet on 17 August 2025.
One visitor went from yes, maybe to no in no time at all. She wanted a laundry basket with a lid, which I can of course make to measure.
Just a few minutes later: “Well, I should weave such a laundry basket first. If I liked it, then I would buy it. I would have agreed to that too, but…
…a few hours later I received an email saying that they had changed their mind and didn’t need a laundry basket for the time being. No problem, then. There’s enough work waiting for me.
All in all, it was a beautiful market day with blue skies and sunshine. However, there was also a fresh wind from the north-east, which prevented the temperatures from rising above 10 degrees. It did get quite chilly over time. Lots of chatting with people and customers, some of whom we have known for years, made the time pass quickly.
We are very excited to see how the farmers’ market will continue from July. Because in July, the Kurpark will be turned inside out for the 2027 State Garden Show and the park will be off-limits for the farmers’ market. Where the farmers’ market will then be moved to and whether it can take place at all is still being planned by those responsible.
Oh yes, before I forget. I also got myself a sunburn. In April!
