As soon as the roller chairs are ready for collection by the customer, the next chair mesh is already waiting. So Ralf heads off to the workshop and exposes 96 holes in the seat. Some of the old wooden wedges can be knocked out of the holes. We use a steel nail with a flattened tip for this. And if it doesn’t work at all, we drill as usual.
The seat is now being rewoven with cotton braid in an antique colour. Unfortunately, the size of the chair makes it a little unwieldy, so I can’t clamp it in the clamp as usual. So I have to keep pushing the chair back and forth on the table to weave it.
But this wickerwork chair will also be finished one day and is now waiting to be collected.
