Welcome

Welcome to my website. On the following pages I offer you information about my profession, my work, my market dates and much more. I have briefly summarized the most important things about me and my job below.

About me
Korbmacherei Kreative Finger

After three years of training at the state vocational school in Lichtenfels/Upper Franconia, I completed the weaving trade with a skilled worker certificate in 1983 and am therefore considered a state-certified basket maker. I then worked in the automotive industry for almost 27 years until, on February 1st, 2011, I took the step to return to the profession I had learned and became self-employed.

I realized that the job I had learned was also my calling and I haven’t regretted taking this step to this day. I weave basketry and chair weaves with heart and soul.

Quality and ecology

All weaving that you find on my pages comes exclusively from my own handicraft production and is subject to my own quality standards. Since 2017, I have been able to use the Wetterau Tourism Region label as a Wetterau Original.
My wicker baskets can last a very long time if cared for properly. And once they have had their day, they can be returned to the ecological cycle without any problems. Unfortunately, the situation is different with many imported goods, as they are often treated with pesticides for transport. These then release gases over a longer period of time and not only pollute the environment, but also the food stored in such a basket.

Keep rather than throw away

Many old wicker baskets are too good to throw away. That’s why I offer a professional basket repair service, specialising in broken handles or loose grips – I restore baskets with craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Sustainable, local, long-lasting

Wicker baskets are a natural product. They are biodegradable, sturdy and versatile. With every handmade basket, you are choosing a piece of genuine craftsmanship – and rejecting mass-produced goods.

Other offers

In addition to making basketry, I also renovate chair and furniture weaves.
I offer my basketry for sale at markets and events and also like to demonstrate the craft of basket making.

I hope you have a pleasant stay on my site and I am sure that you will find what you are looking for. And if not, feel free to ask me.
