<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nThe last braiding course took place yesterday. This marks the end of 2014 for me, at least as far as braiding courses are concerned. The close cooperation with NABU Ortenberg will continue in 2015 and the planning of the courses for the coming year is already in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking back, I can say that there was great interest in the courses offered. Many course participants were surprised at the work that ultimately goes into basket weaving. Working with willow requires not only a certain level of manual skill but also a lot of strength. This led to some muscle soreness here and there the next day, as I was told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What was always well received was lunch. Before the course, it was clarified whether there were any food allergies or whether there were vegetarians among the course participants. Depending on the situation, there were often two dishes to choose from that had been prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, it was always best when you could weave outside under the large plane tree when the weather was nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But not only the adults could learn how to braid, but also the children. Two courses were offered at the Ortenberg holiday games, both of which were very well received. Children (and adults) were also able to weave a small basket at the NABU Ortenberg summer festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I always had a lot of fun introducing my basket-making craft to the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
