<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nOn February 28, 2015 it was that time again. NABU Ortenberg organized the first weaving course in 2015 with me as the course leader. Four people interested in weaving got together to weave a basket together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preparations for this braiding course began almost 14 days in advance. First the pastures had to be selected. They are sorted by diameter and number for the base, the stands, the layers and the rear sights. Then it goes into the tub to soak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this preparation, the first step, the floor cross, could begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. The base of the basket is then created from the base cross and the basic structure of the basket is developed using 24 stakes. This is followed by a rear sight and a shift and you can slowly see how the basket is created. The final rear sight and surcharge then form the final work step to a finished basket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And since the work of a basket maker is strenuous, we had lunch every now and then to fortify ourselves. Here, too, I think about it in advance and the food can be prepared vegetarian or suitable for allergy sufferers. All of this will be clarified in advance of the courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If it gets loud in the clubhouse during the day, then you know what is meant by \u201chard work\u201d. The rear sight and the layer are regularly beaten together with the striking iron so that the pastures lie close to one another and nothing starts to wobble later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The day went by quickly for all participants and shortly after 5:00 p.m. everyone had their own basket in their hands. And everyone enjoyed the day and people were already thinking about whether they should book the next course on March 28, 2015 immediately. Because only those who practice often can later weave baskets correctly at home on their own.
