{"id":21553,"date":"2019-08-10T07:24:53","date_gmt":"2019-08-10T05:24:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kreativefinger.de\/wp\/?p=21553"},"modified":"2025-10-25T11:48:52","modified_gmt":"2025-10-25T09:48:52","slug":"korbparade-und-uneinsichtigkeiten-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kreativefinger.de\/wp\/?p=21553&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Basket parade and (lack of) insight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"last-updated entry-meta\">Aktualisiert am 25.10.2025  <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last weekend it was time again for new pictures of my basketry; a small basket and handle parade at the farmers&#8216; market in Bad Salzhausen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I always notice that I am a basket maker when people ask about the things that I don&#8217;t have or whether they are available in larger, smaller or different colors. I&#8217;m not a basket dealer who buys lots of cheap goods, drives around in the truck and then sells them at high prices. I produce my basketry myself, stand up for quality and am happy to weave the desired basket individually for a customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requests for repairs are always the same. Whether it&#8217;s baskets or chair weaves. It&#8217;s just a small piece that can definitely be replaced somehow. Somehow\u2026..you just have to\u2026\u2026you couldn&#8217;t just\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If my answer is: No, that&#8217;s not possible, then people will start discussing it with me. No matter how I try to explain why it doesn&#8217;t work, the insight that it doesn&#8217;t work is suddenly completely missing. Whether the basket base now consists almost entirely of the base cross, the layer is dissolving or there are only a few threads through the chair weave. Some people really insist on botching a repair. And that&#8217;s exactly what I don&#8217;t do!
