We spent yesterday’s Sunday at the farm festival at the Pappelhof in Reichelsheim in beautiful market weather. We enjoyed blue skies, temperatures around 24\u00b0C and a great atmosphere. We met many nice people and acquaintances we never would have expected to see. But first things first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The journey there was short, of course. After about 20 minutes across the Wetterau, we arrived at the Pappelhof and were greeted warmly and given brief instructions on where to set up and where to park the car later. Setting up was no sweat for us and was quickly done thanks to our routine. Unlike some of our neighbours. It was funny to watch at times, but then again not, so we helped out here and there or looked after our personal belongings. It’s nice that we always travel in pairs. That makes a market day much easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, we were there so early again that we were finished setting up well before opening time. We enjoyed the sun a little while we relaxed and took it easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The market day went pretty much like any other. Sometimes quiet, then busy again, lots of nice conversations, the usual questions and answers. The reactions to the beauty cash box were interesting. 99.99% smiled, laughed and even threw in 50 cents. However, there were also those 0.01% who apparently were born without a sense of humour. We had a bit of a laugh about them afterwards (just a little, almost not at all).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some visitors were only recognised late or not at all as former participants in the basket weaving courses from a long time ago. And it’s nice to hear that everyone enjoyed the basket weaving courses and that the woven baskets are still in use. Fond memories, even though I decided a few years ago to stop offering basket weaving courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several invitations to other farm festivals for this year and next year were extended. However, the dates are often during a period when I am unavailable. I’m still thinking about participating in others, because I always have the farmers‘ market in connection with the Ladesgartenschau in Bad Salzhausen in the back of my mind. Can it continue to be held or will it be cancelled due to work for the LGS? Questions to which there are no clear answers from the city of Nidda at the moment. And so we are looking around for possible alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
