So today was the day. The third braiding course with and at NABU Ortenberg took place. In addition, the youth group came in the afternoon and there was a small work assignment in the morning.
So there was really something going on in and around the clubhouse. As someone said: “Finally in the hut”.
Four course participants were instructed in the art of willow weaving while brush cutters and chainsaws roared outside. The outdoor area was given a new hairdo and the established hedge plants were cut free. Wood was sawn and stacked and thick chunks of sandstone were piled up in a pile.
The youth group then used the sandstones to create a pile that would serve as a shelter for lizards and other animals.
At lunchtime there was a hearty soup for the braiding course participants and grilled sausages for the “field staff”.
A beautiful and successful day came to an end around 5:00 p.m. and one or the other dared to take a quick look into the course room. Maybe you’re interested?
Tomorrow (May 4, 2014) we’ll go to the Celtic World in Glauburg for the spring festival. There I demonstrate the craft of basket making. The car is already newly loaded. But now let’s rest from today.
