Sunday morning 6:30 am. The alarm clock rings because today is the NABU Ortenberg summer festival. As members, we are of course active helpers. Me with mini braiding courses and Ralf as a kitchen helper. And because we were both busy there are only pictures of the construction.

At 8:00 a.m. everyone met and because of the weather forecast (it was supposed to rain) tents were set up. In the end, the sun shone until the evening, which meant there were a lot of guests.

The construction progressed quickly and I was already called upon before the official opening at 10:00 a.m. What am I braiding? Why just tell, just let it happen was the motto. So a basket with Ninsen bottom was made; i.e. an open floor that is braided at the very end.

But a wicker swing was also on the program. This can also be braided quickly by children. Over the course of the day, one braiding course after another was held and many times the adults helped their children.

The summer festival ended around 5:00 p.m. and dismantling began. Everything was quickly loaded again and the helpers from the summer festival gathered at the beer truck to toast the successful festival in a small group.

It was a tiring Sunday for everyone but it was worth it. We all agreed that this summer festival was an absolute success. Many happy smiles probably had to be massaged out of some faces the next day.
