For Monument Day, a market was held on Herrnhaag near Büdingen under the motto art meets craft. This market only takes place every two years.
So on Sunday we had to get up early and set up in cloudy weather. But according to the weather forecast, the gray clouds should be driven away by the sun as the day progresses. And that’s how it ended up being. The day showed its most beautiful side from midday onwards.
As a trained and state-certified basket maker, I was announced as a chair weaver for the demonstrating craft. And so I had a chair with me that had a new seat braided into it. Unfortunately, the number of visitors wasn’t as big as usual on Herrnhaag and still some of the guests found their way into the market tent and watched me at work.
