The autumn market in the Dominican monastery in Frankfurt always means a lot of work. Countless visitors are waiting impatiently to get in half an hour before the opening. As soon as the doors open, things go crazy and as an exhibitor you can hardly take a deep breath.
But that’s exactly what makes a market and why I like being part of the Dominican monastery so much.
Orders were announced to me in advance. For example, repairing a very old laundry basket where the handles needed to be replaced.
We were always amused when we heard the bells ringing. Dozens of visitors have lifted one of the bells, looked at the bottom and then shaken it to make it really ring.
Over 2,000 visitors came over the two days and it never got boring. The traditional market is and remains a crowd puller. As always, the net proceeds from admission and stand fees go to the German Multiple Sclerosis Society, DMSG for short.
