Party until 4:00 in the morning. How glad we were to have slept at home. You could see some bleary-eyed faces when we arrived. Bellmuth celebrated until 4:00 a.m. and the traders and campers hardly got any sleep. But that’s just the way it is and at pure medieval markets it’s often not much different.
We, rested and well-slept, prepared the stand and settled in for a pleasant day. And so it was. No stress from visitors but there was always interest in my basketry and chair weaves.
At some point during the morning, dark clouds rolled in and it started to rain a bit heavily at times. But as soon as it started, it stopped again and the tent tarpaulins proved that they were waterproof. The youth fire brigade competition was definitely to blame for the rain, as they constantly shouted “Water on!” As a punishment, some of the youth fire brigade were then recruited as new miners and taken away.
Things got very interesting in the afternoon when two young ladies positioned themselves next to my stand and quickly captured people. The two knew how to captivate their audience and truly deserved their applause.
Towards the evening the black knight came and definitely wanted to collect the tithe. But when Ralf pulled out the soul catcher (camera) he turned away.
So the first day ended peacefully and I was able to refit a chair with a new seat at my leisure.
