It had been planned for a long time this weekend and we were off to Lichtenfels for the basket market. On Friday we drove to Lichtenfels with a caravan in tow. Almost as regular guests at the campsite, we already knew our pitch and were able to park the caravan appropriately.
After a quick bit of shopping, we drove into town and had a look around beforehand to see who had their stand where. Of course, we primarily hung out around the church. And then we stood in front of willows. Well, picked it out, put it back and picked it up the next day. Many thanks to Arresoe pil from Denmark.
On Saturday we had to get out early and quickly go to the material dealer. I bought willow, willow and more willow. Luckily there is a lot of space in the bus :-) We continued to the basket market and picked up the Danish willows. These are extremely good pastures that I will use sparingly for myself. I’m already looking forward to that.
We stayed away from the many basket dealers. Everyone had the same basketry. So we always found ourselves drawn to church. And rightly so. You can only see such great craftsmanship here.
We deliberately decided not to take close-up pictures. I respect the ideas and implementation of the basket makers and artists. I have my images in my head and am inspired by them.
So two days of basket market went by in a flash and many a conversation was had. It was definitely fun to be in Lichtenfels again.
