Done. My 2015 market season comes to an end with the Christmas magic in Ranstadt.
With sun, blue skies and, above all, dry, the market took place from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Around 30 tents and booths squeezed into the square in front of and next to the town hall in Ranstadt.
The wooden huts were so narrow that it was no longer possible to drive into them for unloading. Because of the busy main road, it was very dangerous for many people to transport their belongings. At times it was quite tight between pedestrians and passing cars.
Luckily the sunshine encouraged us to build something. Originally we wanted to start setting up at 1 p.m. Afterwards we wanted to go home again. But the situation didn’t allow this. The longest construction ever completely threw our planning out the window.
Started at 11:20 a.m. and finished at 1:45 p.m.
There were many visitors, just not those who built the path to the church. At least that’s the subjective impression.
The only real highlight of the day: the goods and tent were brought home dry.
Conclusion:
Back in 2014, things didn’t go well for me. You may remember: I booked and paid for a 3x3m wooden booth. I got 2×2.5m.
And this time, without warning, you were forced to transport your entire equipment to and from a busy main road to the square, which took a long time to set up.
Unfortunately, in recent years the quality of the market has moved more towards quantity. A handful of arts and crafts juxtaposed the masses of eating and drinking stalls. With around 30 stands, that’s not a really successful mix.
And 2016? Probably not anymore.
