Gardener’s market in the city of Ortenberg – That’s it

In the run-up to the Altstadt Pur street theater festival, which is known beyond the borders, a gardener’s market took place for the first time today. Around 25 stands relating to gardens, plants and nature conservation were represented.

Initially cloudy, but dry, we were able to set up in peace. In between, there was help with setting up the tent from NABU Ortenberg, of which Ralf and I are also members.

There were a surprising number of visitors out and about and the rain over lunchtime didn’t keep them away. Nobody let their mood be spoiled. When it rained, the tents were full of visitors, there was running water around their feet and baskets were always being put in and out. The rain showers could be used for stimulating conversations. Afterwards the sun was visible again and everything dried quickly. And with the sun came many visitors again. It was a successful and beautiful market that will hopefully be continued next year.

The final bell rang at 5 p.m. (we were standing at the old elementary school) and we rushed to pack up because black, really black clouds were gathering. We managed to load everything dry, but our neighbor with the ceramic fox rose wasn’t so quick. And as much as we would have liked to help with packing, everyone has their own system and so we rolled towards home. Dear Rosemarie then dismantled her tent in the wet, but arrived home safely, as we found out.

Here are a few more impressions of the market.
