Summer freshness in the castle in Friedberg/Hesse. You could put it that way too. While the previous days were very cool and sometimes quite humid, the sun came through last weekend and conjured up many a bead of sweat on your forehead.
On Friday we set off with all the equipment towards Friedberg Castle to set up for the upcoming weekend. Well coordinated, things progressed quickly. Putting up a Wiki tent, covering it with tarpaulins and the certainty that you would get your fill of sun for two days already gave you heat waves. As usual, all basketry was initially deposited in the sales tent. Decorating is always done the following day. So that meant the construction day: end of work and go home.
On Saturday we headed towards Friedberger Castle early. Tent up, goods out, decorated, time for chatting and the most important thing of all: going to the toilet before the masses of visitors declare a state of siege.
To work from home, I brought a chair with me that needed to have the backrest braided. But I didn’t get very far with the work. The first braiding students were almost standing in line and some were already taking turns waiting impatiently. After five hours I had time to catch my breath, make another trip to the toilet and finally eat something.
It was a little quieter until 8 p.m. or we just left the break sign hanging. After all, the Ambiente weekend shouldn’t just be about work.
Now it’s exciting to see what Sunday has to offer.
The market is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is certainly affordable with an entrance fee of €1. There are enough thalers left over to spend at the stands; preferably mine, of course.
