For the second time today, in nice weather and pleasant temperatures, children were able to try out their basket-weaving skills at the town of Ortenberg’s holiday games.
They and their companions were warmly welcomed by my dear helper Anna and I. Whether in the shade or in the sun, after a short instruction the braiding could begin. And everyone took part with great enthusiasm. Little by little, brightly colored baskets were created. Wherever help was needed, I patiently explained it and I discovered many weaving mistakes. Then it was all about going back and starting again.
Tara observed the braiding spectacle with curiosity. In addition to the braiding, it is also a highlight of the event. Then there was cuddles and hugs.
But back to the braiding course. Little by little the baskets grew in height and at some point I had to weave the extra (edge) for each apprentice. So everyone had their own basket ready and after 3 hours the results could be proudly shown to the adults who picked them up.
It was fun and I’m happy that so many well-known names took part in my braiding course at the holiday games again.
I wish all the children in the two courses a lot of fun with their baskets and a nice holiday season.
