What more can you expect? Pleasant temperature, sun and a few clouds. The ideal weather for a braiding course. Four participants gathered at the NABU clubhouse “Haus an den Salzwiesen” to learn how to weave with willow. From the very beginning, the basic concepts and knowledge were taught in a relaxed atmosphere. Starting with the base cross and braiding the base through to the rear sight, layer and surcharge, everything that a braiding student needs to learn was represented.
The break for lunch was a welcome break. But as soon as the plates were empty, everyone became impatient again and wanted to go to the pastures. So let’s get out into the fresh air and get to the wickerwork. Little by little, small bowls were created. And one was surprised at how different the results can be, even though everyone braided the same number of willows. Well not all of them. One participant really wanted to weave an oval basket. I was happy to comply with the request, as I already had previous knowledge.
I wish all participants lots of fun with their weavings.
