Great commitment to the craft of basket making or as it is now called, basketry design.
On the one hand I’m happy, but on the other hand I’m a bit uncomfortable. Among other things, we are talking about January 10, 2017, the New Year’s reception of the city of Friedberg, to which I was invited and where I received the official certificate of the Wetterau originals. I’m just not suited to such public events. But I didn’t choose it any other way and so I will (have to) bravely face the event according to the motto “Close my eyes and go through it”.
After all, I now carry out a craft that has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO Germany since 2016. And I have been showing this cultural heritage at markets for 6 years now in the diversity of crafts and in my weaving courses I am happy to pass on my knowledge about this approximately 12,000 year old craft.
So I face the commitment to my craft and accept the challenge of being present at official appointments.
