It’s lucky that I have enough and, above all, a large tub of my own to soak all the willows that I need in the near future. There are three braiding courses coming up in a very short time.
First we’re going to the multi-generational house in Schotten next Saturday. There have been enough people willing to weave who would like to get a taste of the craft of basket making.
On the first Saturday in September we continue with the regular braiding course at NABU Ortenberg. And the following week there will be a private day braiding course.
So these really feel like masses of willows that are now lying in the water and some have been soaking for a week. That’s why I’m so happy that I have a really large tub with a capacity of around 900 liters that can fit all the pastures. It is always interesting to do something to counteract the buoyancy of the willows. So here with a step gate, wooden boards and stones.
