…. I decided to set up my own business. Since then, I’ve been constantly busy with baskets, chair weaving, markets and weaving courses.
Well, since March 2020 more or less limited in the “home office” and much less travelling. But at least I’ve been busy and I’m still receiving enquiries and orders in 2021.
Ten years have passed and when I think back to the beginnings, I smile. My first public appearance in August 2011 for the 40th anniversary of the large municipality of Ranstadt with palpitations and insane stage fright. My first braiding course. I have tried out many, many markets and events to see which ones attract the right audience for me and my basketry.
In the meantime, I have got used to talking to my customers and know how to teach others how to weave with willow. Above all, I know exactly which work I refuse. I’ve learnt that too.
Now I’m looking hopefully to the future, hoping to stay healthy and weaving from home until further notice.
