For the penultimate time this year, 4 people interested in braiding met for a course in the NABU clubhouse of the Ortenberg local group. Due to the weather conditions, we braided indoors. Unfortunately, it was too cold and too damp for outside.
I already knew one of the participants from the first braiding course I had given. After a short briefing on how to construct a basket, we learnt diligently. And the theory was put into practice.
Starting with the base cross, the braiding of the base, the staking, the body mould, a layer and the finish, a bowl was braided in just under 7 hours. In between there was the obligatory lunch for refreshment. This time in two variations, a vegetarian soup and a goulash soup.
At the end there was a little something extra from me. On request, I showed them how to weave a willow spiral.
