I finally found my beauty fund at a flea market in Ortenberg recently. A small wooden box into which those who constantly walk past the stand talking about baskets, I can do that too, etc. can pay a small monetary reward into it in the future.
The Schönkasse was used for the first time at the last farmers’ market in Bad Salzhausen. It was on the table with some bait money. Norbert Bienfait from the mobile coffee roastery, who is always opposite my stand, was the first to look at the cash register, laugh and pay. He was then allowed to gossip all day about my baskets, which are so beautiful and he can do that too.
When visitors used the cash register, most of them smiled and even paid. One guy told his wife to be careful what she says, it can get expensive. However, very few apparently didn’t understand the meaning of my fine fund and, figuratively speaking, moved on, somewhat annoyed.
Since there were still a lot of willows left over from the weaving course the day before, I was able to weave them at the farmers’ market and show visitors what work goes into a basket.
I also had a repaired basket from the last farmer’s market with me, which the owner picked up at the end of the farmer’s market.
There are still two farmers markets on my schedule this year in October (7th and 28th), then my 2018 market season will definitely be over. No Christmas markets or anything like that, just processing customer orders and producing my baskets. Oops…
