I was there for the fourth time now. As in previous years, I chose Untergasse. A bit away from the old market place, but still close enough to the action. Especially because the street artists also perform here.
As in all previous years, the first visitor to the stand was a cat. As if she was waiting for me to set up my basketry in the stall, she immediately purrs around the tables. Apparently happy with the setup and decoration, she crawls onto the table without hesitation and sniffs briefly here and there. And then she makes herself comfortable in a basket. And when I start making the chair weave, she sits in front of me and watches very carefully what I’m doing.
And then come the (musical) chickens. And what do chickens do? Correct!
Put a banana, of course! Don’t you think so? The picture is the proof.
The rooster couldn’t believe it and there was a lot of screaming. The hen was so stressed that she just bolted into the alley.
Note: It’s amazing how long shaving cream lasts on the street. And it’s even more astonishing that so many visitors stepped right into the “poop pile”.
A lovely market day with relaxed visitors, delicious bratwurst from Lenz, delicious cake from the Besenwirtschaft around the corner, great actors and two orders in the bag.
I’m already looking forward to 2019 and Altstadt Pur. Always well organized by the city and artistic director. And every year there is something new in terms of street theater, activities and attractions.
