Medieval festival at Lißberg Castle

Not far from our home is Lißberg, a district of Ortenberg, with a beautiful castle ruin. And a medieval festival has been taking place here every August for years. So what could be more logical than to apply for this market as a basket maker with demonstrations of crafts and small weaving courses that visitors to my stand can take part in.

And so it happened that I was able to be there from August 22nd to 23rd in beautiful weather. And this is directly under the Krautfass, as the old tower that is still standing is called. Both tents could be set up beautifully between two trees and it was a sought-after shady spot, as it turned out during the two market days. But also a tiny disadvantage. Because the visitors who came to the site practically always walked past us. It was only on the way back that people could really discover us. So baskets were distributed widely and the music of the Fafnir group on our small meadow attracted a few more visitors, at least on Saturday.

Thanks to the sunny weather and pleasant temperatures, visitors came from near and far and some people made their own baskets for me.

Many friends and acquaintances have found their way to Lißberg. And many new acquaintances were also made. Ralf and I had a lot of fun these two days and we would be happy if we could pitch our tents at the same place again in 2016.
